Not all sexually transmitted infections have symptoms and therefore it is a good idea to have an STI test when you change your partner. A sexually transmitted infection can be passed on when you have unprotected sex or other close sexual contact with another person.
If you think you have an STI, don’t panic! Most are easy to treat and your local sexual health service will be able to provide a fast and confidential service.
A range of contraception choices are available. Contact your GP or sexual health service to discuss your options.
