Festive activities to do at home this Christmas

After missing out on all of the festive fun last year, we know that a lot of people will want to make up for it by doing various activities throughout the Christmas period; ice skating, going to Christmas markets and attending Christmas light shows, to name a few. But we also know that some people would rather enjoy festive activities from the comfort of their homes, which is why we wanted to share with you some ideas on activities you and your family can do together at home this Christmas.

Non-alcoholic mulled wine

Mulled wine is a much-loved Christmas tradition, but making a non-alcoholic version is something the whole family can enjoy.  We’ve found a delicious, fruity alternative which will warm you up and bring the smell of Christmas spice into your home.  Follow this simple recipe - it only takes 10 minutes and will warm you from head to toe!

Salt dough ornaments

Want to make your own Christmas decorations from scratch with the family this year? Then why not try this creative idea and make a salt dough ornament? All you need is salt, flour and water to create the salt dough, and you can turn it into whatever ornament you fancy! Check out how to make DIY salt dough ornaments here. Salt dough ornaments are perfect for the Christmas tree, and could also make a unique gift for someone!

Elf on the Shelf

Many of us enjoy games at Christmas time and the very popular Elf on the Shelf game is a much-loved family favourite. The idea is that the elf is sent by Santa to check on children across the country to see whether they have been naughty or nice. But be careful! The children aren’t allowed to touch the elf, or it’s elf magic will disappear, so the adults are responsible for the elf’s every move!

Most people start Elf on the Shelf on December 1st, but it’s not too late to start!
