Local Transport Plan consultation

Warning The Local Transport Plan consultation is now closed. We’ll review all the feedback and make changes where needed before the plan is finalised in 2026
Local Transport Authorities have a statutory duty to prepare and update a Local Transport Plan for their area. Our current Local Transport Plan 2011 to 2026 was produced in 2011 and a lot has changed since then. Our new draft Local Transport Plan 2026 to 2041 will set out the long-term goals, strategy, and policies for improving transport for everyone over the 15 years. You can see our draft plan and current plans below. The consultation was open from 18 August to 20 October 2025. Once adopted, the plan will help us secure funding and start delivering improvements in your area.
