Egg-citing activities to do this Easter

The Easter holidays are here; time to spring into action and have fun with the family.

Taking a break is good for our wellbeing and the perfect opportunity to spend time doing activities that we enjoy. Here are some amazing activities happening in our county this Easter which are free or low cost and will give your wellbeing a boost.

Take part in an orienteering course and explore somewhere new

Orienteering is for all ages and abilities and it’s good for both body and mind. It’s a fun activity and a great way to get outside, get active and explore new places. we’re lucky to have many free courses across the county.

The aim is to navigate between checkpoints marked on a returnable map or downloadable Maprun app, and you can walk or run the courses. You can choose from forest and countryside to urban areas; find your nearest orienteering course. Each course will have details on where you can get a returnable map.

Spend time in green spaces and connect with nature

The Parks Foundation provides community activities in parks and green spaces across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. These activities are all about helping people reconnect with nature and improving health and wellbeing.

Over the Easter holidays and throughout April, The Parks Foundation have a fun-filled activity programme, packed with nature activities for the whole family to enjoy. From minibeast hunts, nature and story-time trails, to making super seed balls, pond dipping and more. The majority of the activities are free, but some may charge a small fee. Take a look the events on The Parks Foundation website to find out more.

Activities for any type of weather

You can visit your local library at any time during the Easter break, even when it’s raining and you’re wanting some quality family time, with activities including Easter trails, stories and craft making. You can even join some libraries for a brilliant adventure filled with puppetry, jokes, and a heart-warming original story.
