Summer fun for all the family

School's out! It's summertime in Dorset and there is no shortage of exciting activities to keep you busy right here in our beautiful county. Getting out and about is great for our wellbeing - from Nature trails to local festivals, not forgetting a wealth of local museums, libraries and galleries. Dorset has so much more to offer on your doorstep that you might imagine!

Over the summer holidays many supermarkets and restaurant chains are offering kids eat free or cheap deals. These offers and discounts help families eat well and save money while staying entertained. See what deals are available over the summer holidays.

Here's 3 great reasons to make the most of activities this season:

1. Reconnect with nature is a natural tonic for our overall wellbeing. We have the best of both worlds with coast and countryside in Dorset; so whether it's a nature trail through shady cool woods, a picnic in one of our many parks or a simple stroll by the beach – it's sure to lift your mood and reduce stress.

2. Getting outdoors is always a boost to our physical health too. Walking, cycling, beach volleyball, or swimming in open waters - it's always good to raise the heat rate,  improve stamina and move our bodies to keep us feeling great.

3. Socialising and making connections helps foster a sense of belonging, creates memories and provides a sense of fulfilment. Taking part in group activities and community events is a great place to start. Making plans with friends doesn't have to be complicated or expensive, time spent together enjoying the simple things can be a real mood-booster!
