Thank you for staying at home

Frontline staff from across Dorset are joining together thanking people for following social distancing guidelines and staying at home.

In a video being shared on social media staff want to thank communities for their patience during lockdown.

Director of Public Health for Dorset and BCP Councils Sam Crowe said:

“We appreciate all the efforts people are making and understand it has been a difficult time for everyone.

“Thanks to your hard work, social distancing measures have had a real impact on the spread of COVID-19 in Dorset.

“But we are not out of the woods yet. It’s even more important that over this bank holiday we do everything we can to follow social distancing guidelines so we can meet the government’s five tests for adjusting lockdown.”

Dorset Police Chief Constable James Vaughan said: “Although it is very hard for everyone to keep going with the lockdown rules, we simply must do all we can to follow the advice and stay at home.

“Our actions are making a big difference to reducing the spread of this terrible disease and together we are truly saving lives.”
