Grab your jab this ‘Super Saturday’ – This is Our Way Out
If you still need your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine you can ‘grab a jab’ at a number of walk-in clinics across Dorset this Saturday (10 July). |
There’s no need to book to get your jab - just turn up. The Pfizer first dose offer is an open offer to everyone 18+ and is not restricted by age. Jabs will be given on a first come, first served basis. It’s the perfect opportunity for those who have yet to have their first jab, or who have changed their mind and now want to take up the offer. More than one million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have already been delivered in Dorset and health bosses are aiming even higher to protect local communities. Walk-ins - Saturday 10 July 2021 (last updated 09/07/21) Bournemouth University, Bournemouth

Receiving the second dose at least eight weeks after the first offers the best protection. Next week will see more walk-in opportunities at the Bournemouth International Centre from 14 July – more details coming soon. See here for the latest list of walk in sites: https://www.dorsetccg.nhs.uk/vaccinations/walk-in/ (keep visiting the site for the latest list of walk ins) Dr Karen Kirkham, local Dorset GP, urged people to come forward and take up the offer. She said: “We are making an appeal for everyone to accept the offer of this life-saving COVID-19 jab. Please do get your jab. “We want to try to reach everyone so if you know someone who hasn’t been called or who has now changed their mind and wants the vaccine, please share the details of these walk-ins with friends, family and work colleagues and spread the word. As well as these walk-in clinics, there are many other opportunities across Dorset to get your vaccine. Getting vaccinated has been shown to dramatically reduce your chances of being hospitalised or dying from the disease.” Normal booked appointments at the BIC will start again from 19 July – so you can book your slot now on the National Booking System www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19 As well as primary care vaccination sites, there are nine local community pharmacies offering the jab across Dorset meaning there are plenty of options to get your first dose and have your second dose. Remember as well as having your vaccine, it’s important to test regularly - https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/testing/get-tested-for-coronavirus/ |
